Why dictate in Telegram
Telegram is often where languages mix: a work group in English, family in Russian, a channel in Spanish. Switching keyboard layouts and spell-checkers for each one is tiring.
With Wisper you talk in whatever language is easiest and choose the language the text comes out in. It also helps with the long stuff: channel posts, announcements and detailed replies that take ages to type.
How to dictate in Telegram with Wisper
- Install Wisper from the Mac App Store (macOS 14 Sonoma or later). Allow the microphone, and switch Wisper on under Accessibility so it can paste for you.
- Click into the Telegram message box.
- Hold right ⌥ Option (or Fn, or ⌥W — your choice) and talk the way you would to a person.
- Let go. Wisper pastes clean text where your cursor is.
- To post in another language, pick the output language first (⌃⌥L or the Wisper bar), then talk in yours.
That’s the whole loop. For longer thoughts, double-tap the hotkey to go hands-free and tap again to stop. To change text you already wrote, select it, hold right ⌥ and say what to change — “shorter”, “friendlier”, “in Spanish”.
The style that fits: Default
Default keeps your words and cleans them up, so chats still sound like you — in whichever language you pick for the output.
For channel posts, Quick note turns what you say into bullets. Or dictate in Default, select the text and press ⌥5 for Bullets.

Tips for Telegram
Translate what you already wrote
Select a message you typed, hold right ⌥ and say “in Spanish” — or press ⌥4 to translate it.
Tidy a long post
Dictate the whole thing, select it, and say “make it shorter” or press ⌥1 for Polish. Wisper rewrites it in place, and ⌘Z undoes it.
Names and handles
Add people’s names, channel names and slang to the Dictionary so they’re spelled your way.
