Why dictate in Notion
Notion is where you think out loud in writing: plans, specs, ideas, notes from a call. The thinking is quick. Getting it into blocks is not.
Talking lets you dump the whole idea before you lose it, then shape it later. Wisper removes the fillers and false starts as you go, so what lands in Notion is readable from the start.
How to dictate in Notion with Wisper
- Install Wisper from the Mac App Store (macOS 14 Sonoma or later). Allow the microphone, and switch Wisper on under Accessibility so it can paste for you.
- Click into the Notion block where the text should go.
- Hold right ⌥ Option (or Fn, or ⌥W — your choice) and talk the way you would to a person.
- Let go. Wisper pastes clean text where your cursor is.
That’s the whole loop. For longer thoughts, double-tap the hotkey to go hands-free and tap again to stop. To change text you already wrote, select it, hold right ⌥ and say what to change — “shorter”, “friendlier”, “in Spanish”.
The style that fits: Quick note
Quick note turns a ramble into a few short bullets — good for ideas, to-dos and notes from a call.
For full paragraphs in a doc or spec, use Default: it keeps your words and just cleans them.

Tips for Notion
Record the meeting, paste the gist

No, they do different jobs. Wisper gets your words into Notion quickly and cleanly. What you do with them in Notion is up to you.
